When Blogging Wasn’t Even on My Radar
Previously, I had not heard about blog writing until I went for an industrial attachment at a tour company in 2023. At first, it felt like just another task to complete. I was introduced to it by a fellow attache, and though she tried, I wasn’t really into it.
My attitude was: “Let’s just get through this and show my supervisor that I’ve learned something for the day.” So, I took bullet-point notes, and when my supervisor asked me to present, I gave a quick 2-minute rundown.

Taking notes on blogging to look serious |
On the way home, I literally said to myself: “Thank God the day is over and no questions were asked.” Little did I know that moment would plant a seed I didn’t see coming.
The Day My Supervisor Surprised Me
The following week, my supervisor called me over to his desk. He asked me to sit beside him, observe what he was doing, and take notes.

At that point, I was mostly thinking about grades and being a “good student.”
He worked quickly with tabs, typing, and formatting and some of it looked familiar from what the other attache mentioned. I asked a few questions. And to be honest, I still wasn’t sure if my heart was in it.
The Assignment That Changed Everything
Then it happened. He gave me a blogging assignment. And since incomplete assignments scare me, I decided to just get it done.
I did my research, wrote a draft blog on a destination, and submitted it the next day.
To my surprise… my supervisor liked it. He corrected and guided me through it, and suddenly, I realized blogging was actually interesting.
By the end of the week, I was enjoying it, learning more, and even teaching my fellow attaches what I’d learned.
From Ignoring It to Publishing Two Blogs
Throughout the rest of my attachment, blogging slowly became my thing. I even got to publish two blog posts on the company’s website a small but meaningful milestone.
But after the attachment ended, I went back to school and continued like it never happened. I told myself I wasn’t gifted or talented (This is a voice that we should all learn to shush). Even when my supervisor kept checking in asking me if I’d consider part-time blogging for extra income I always gave the answers I knew he wanted to hear.
Inside, I was afraid:
- Afraid of failing.
- Afraid of not getting any readers.
- Afraid that maybe blogging wasn’t mine to claim.
Why I’m Blogging Now (Two Years Later)
Here I am three years later finally choosing to write.
This blog is for:
- The introverts who feel unseen
- The shy ones who have so much to say but prefer to write it down
- The people like me, who second-guess their talents even when they’ve already been told they’re good
I’m blogging to prove to myself that I am capable. That I am gifted, even if I doubted it for a while.
My Goal (And It’s Big… But It’s Mine)
This is just a small part of my story.
My dream? To hit 15,000 monthly readers on this blog. I know that number sounds unrealistic for a rookie but my faith and hope are in God. And with each story I share, I’m getting closer.
Hey you! Hope this blog inspires you to do what you are afraid of.
